1. Data We Collect
1.1 Account & Identity Data
When you sign in via GitHub or Google OAuth, we receive and store:
- Name, email address, profile picture URL, and OAuth provider identifier
- We do not receive or store your OAuth passwords
1.2 Profile Data You Provide
Through your dashboard profile editor, you may voluntarily provide:
- Public: Username, role/title, bio, location, technical skills, interests/tags, education history, certifications
- Auth-gated (visible only to signed-in members): Website URL, LinkedIn URL, GitHub URL
- System-managed (not editable): Architect score, approval status
1.3 Reading & Learning Activity
When you read articles on SuperML.dev, we track:
- Article slugs visited, time spent on each article, completion status
- This data is used to show your personal reading progress, activity streaks, and interest meter on your dashboard
- Reading history is private by default and never shared publicly
1.4 Shorts & Community Activity
When you post or interact with Shorts (community discussions):
- Post content, category, timestamps, and associated URLs are stored
- Votes you cast (upvotes/downvotes) are recorded against your user ID
- Approved posts and vote tallies are visible publicly; your voting history is used to compute your karma score and personalize your dashboard
1.5 Showcase / Product Submissions
When you submit a product to the Showcase, we store:
- Product name, tagline, description, logo, website URL, category, and submission metadata
- Your user ID is associated with the submission to enable editing and deletion
1.6 Analytics & Technical Data
- IP address, browser type, device, and page visit data collected via standard web analytics
- Server access logs retained for security and performance monitoring

3. What Is Public vs. Private

4. Cookies
We use cookies and local storage to:
- Maintain your authentication session (via Supabase)
- Store your UI preferences (theme, etc.)
- Enable anonymous usage analytics
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking session cookies will prevent sign-in.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data with:
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider (data stored in their infrastructure)
- Analytics providers — anonymized usage data only
- Law enforcement — if required by applicable law or to protect rights
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account exists
- Reading progress and Shorts activity are retained until you delete them or close your account
- You may request deletion of your profile and associated data at any time
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data
- Correct — update your profile in the dashboard at
/dashboard - Delete — request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from email communications at any time

8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Authentication via OAuth 2.0 (GitHub and Google)
- Row-level security on our database (Supabase RLS)
- HTTPS for all data in transit
No system is 100% secure. We will notify affected users of any significant data breach.
9. Children’s Privacy
SuperML.dev is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We will update the “Last updated” date when making material changes and notify users via the website. Continued use of SuperML.dev after changes constitutes acceptance.
